Inspiring Leaders

It is well known that what makes leaders effective is their ability to inspire followers by providing a vision of the future that followers can identify with. But did you know that this concept has actually been tested by neuroscientists? A group of Australian scientists conducted studies via MRIs that revealed which parts of the brain are activated when we feel inspired to follow a movement, a trend, or belief. Our feelings begin in the brain and specifically in the area responsible for semantic information processing. Read the details of these experiments in this Journal of Management article (2015).
